10 best blow dry places in London 2026, for hair that still looks expensive on Friday

Because “just a blow dry” should always feel a little bit like an event.

There is a particular kind of confidence that only arrives when someone else has dried your hair. The swing, the shine, the bounce that survives a Tube platform and a drizzly walk to dinner (natch). London does the blow dry better than almost anywhere, and the capital’s best salons have turned a 45-minute appointment into something closer to a mini retreat, complete with scalp massages, bond repair, loose-leaf tea and the occasional, very welcome cocktail.

The trouble, of course, is choice. Every postcode has a blow dry bar, and every one of them promises “salon-quality” bounce. Some are quick and cheerful. Others are properly high end, the sort of place where you’re handed a drink, a head massage and a mirror flattering enough to make you forget it’s only a Tuesday. We wanted the second kind.

So we’ve done the legwork (it’s a tough job, etc.) Pick your postcode, then book before your diary does it for you.

Blow dry places in London at a glance

Haug London Haus, Fitzrovia

Best for: Colour and a blow dry in one effortless sitting
Address: 19 Rathbone Street, Fitzrovia, London W1T 1NE
Special touch: Loose-leaf tea, cakes and seasonal tipples in a calm, green-dressed space, plus the Hair.TOXX sub-zero cryotherapy repair treatment that launched here

A perfect 5.0 across more than 500 reviews is rare enough to make us sit up, and Haug London Haus has earned every decimal. Founded in 2022 by husband-and-wife team Siobhan and Philipp Haug, this Fitzrovia salon is a calm, handsome space dressed in green, where the colourists are every bit as celebrated as the stylists. Philipp has even shared his styling insights for the BAFTA TV Awards looks, so you’re in knowing hands.

Book colour and a blow dry together and you’ll leave with a finish built to last up to five days. It’s the little extras that turn it into a treat rather than a chore: loose-leaf tea, proper coffee, cakes, seasonal tipples and, during the summer heatwave, ice creams handed round to clients in a beautifully air-conditioned room. Come on, that’s service.

Hair geeks should ask about the Hair.TOXX sub-zero cryotherapy repair treatment, which launched here, or the £40 Golden Hour Hair Rescue, which includes a microscopic hair analysis, scalp soothing and deep bond repair. Hear, hear.

Our advice? Book it before a big weekend, a wedding or a week of back-to-back meetings. The signature hot towel treatments are a lovely moment of calm, and the whole thing feels designed for people who want to look polished without it looking like effort. Rathbone Street is also a short stroll from some of Fitzrovia’s best coffee and lunch spots, so you can make an afternoon of it.

Hershesons, Fitzrovia

Best for: The original blow dry bar, with a menu to match
Address: 29-32 Berners Street, Fitzrovia, London W1T 3LR
Special touch: Eight named blow dry styles to choose by mood, and facials given in a separate room under a cosy duvet

If London’s blow dry has a crown, Hershesons has a decent claim to it. The brand calls itself the city’s original blow dry bar and has even created its own hairdryer, which tells you how seriously they take the job. The Berners Street flagship is relaxed, stylish and (according to reviewers) excellent for people-watching, with nearly 1,700 Google reviews to back up the hype.

The menu is where it gets fun. Eight named styles, from Smooth Wavy and Wavy Gravy to The Pleat, Half and Half, Big and Brushed, The Quick Zhoosh, Super Straight and The Classic. Choose by mood, not by minutes. Reviewers also single out the facials, given in a separate room with a cosy duvet, which is the kind of detail we’d happily book a whole afternoon around.

If you’re torn, The Classic is the safe, polished choice that suits almost everyone, while Big and Brushed is the one for a night out when you want your hair to arrive before you do. Book a stylist who knows your hair type, tell them what the occasion is, and let them take it from there.

Can’t make Fitzrovia? There’s a Belgravia flagship too, plus a bar in Selfridges for a blow dry between shopping bags.

Neville Hair & Beauty, Belgravia

Best for: A scalp reset before the blow dry
Address: 5 Pont Street, Belgravia, London SW1X 9EJ
Special touch: Shimmering black decor with plush seats, and the new T’Hairapy Bar’s Scalp Facial and Epres Bond Repair, nicknamed the Hairdryator

Neville is a Belgravia institution, the sort of salon that has been doing glamour long before glamour had a hashtag. Step inside and the decor is all shimmering black, plush seats and a touch of vintage charm, with the upper floor famous for big, bouncy, very voluminous blow dries. Ask for the Show Dry and settle in.

This autumn, the star attraction is the new T’Hairapy Bar, led by Director Elena Lavagni. The Scalp Facial treats your scalp the way a good facial treats your skin: cleanse, exfoliate, stimulate, nourish. It takes 45 to 60 minutes and is recommended every four to six weeks, or before colour, and it is as lovely as it sounds. Then comes the Epres Bond Repair, nicknamed the Hairdryator, a quencher for parched, post-summer (and post-party) hair. The Spencer twins are regulars, and the stylists have done hair for Kitty Spencer at the British Museum Ball.

Heading east instead? Elena’s team also provides hair services at Amazon Salon in Spitalfields Market (47 Brushfield Street), which has a Google rating of 4.6 from 507 reviews. Cut and blow dry, colour or a manicure, all under one roof, which makes it a handy option if you’re already exploring the market.

One for the diary: pair the Scalp Facial with a blow dry and you’ve got the ultimate reset, a real change of pace if your hair has had a rough few months of sun, sea and everything in between.

Gielly Green, Marylebone

Best for: Quiet luxury and a very good head massage
Address: 42-44 George Street, Marylebone, London W1U 7ES
Special touch: Sleek leather reclining chairs and rose gold lighting, so the head massage comes before you even reach the styling chair

Over 2,000 reviews and a 4.9? That’s a number most salons can only dream of. Gielly Green was founded in 2008 by Fred Gielly and Shai Greenberg, and the Marylebone salon feels less like a hairdresser’s and more like a very stylish private home: sleek leather reclining chairs, rose gold lighting, coffee-and-cream tones.

The reclining chairs are the secret weapon. Lie back, let the head massage do its thing, and by the time you reach the styling chair you’ll be in the sort of mood that makes for a very good blow dry. Artistic director Pol Garcia is known for precise cuts and a sharp sense of humour, and the client list is the kind that gets mentioned in lower voices.

It’s the one we’d send a friend to if she’d never had a luxury blow dry before. She’d thank us.

Marylebone is also a very easy place to build a day around, with George Street a short walk from the village’s boutiques, cafes and restaurants. Book the blow dry for the late afternoon and dinner almost plans itself.

ADEM, Belgravia

Best for: A bouncy blow dry and a hazelnut-oil finish
Address: 61 Ebury Street, Belgravia, London SW1W 0NZ
Special touch: A signature hazelnut oil from the owner’s family farm, at the heart of the ADEM haircare range

Another perfect 5.0, and again from nearly a thousand reviews. ADEM is the Belgravia salon of Adem Oygur, who has more than 15 years behind the chair and a trophy cabinet to prove it, including the 2018 L’Oréal Colour Trophy in the Afro hair category and a place as a grand finalist in 2022.

Bouncy blow dries are the headline here, and they are, in a word, buoyant. Then there’s the signature hazelnut oil, which sits at the centre of the ADEM haircare range (the oil comes from the owner’s family farm, which is rather charming). The Pure Hazelnut Oil Hair & Body starts at £26 for the light version, and it’s the souvenir you’ll actually use.

There’s also a second salon at Sloane Square if Ebury Street is full. Book early, because with a rating like that, it will be.

Belgravia is quietly one of London’s best neighbourhoods for a polished day out, so Ebury Street works equally well as a pre-dinner stop or a treat after a morning of Pimlico Road browsing. Ask for a blow dry with bounce, and be prepared to be asked what you did to your hair all week.

Taylor Taylor London, Liberty

Best for: Private-members’-club energy and a complimentary cocktail
Address: Second floor, Liberty, Regent Street, London W1B 5AH
Special touch: A members’-club feel on Liberty’s second floor, with the vegan, plant-based Løre Originals haircare range

What’s not to love about a salon that serves cocktails? Taylor Taylor has been shaking up London hairdressing since 2003, with a relaxed, unisex approach and an atmosphere that feels like a members’ club (without the application form). Its Liberty outpost sits inside one of the loveliest shops in London, which means your blow dry can be followed, naturally, by a browse through the haberdashery.

The salons have been nominated for and won a rather long list of “best of” awards, including Best Luxury Salon in the UK, and the team uses Davines products alongside its own Løre Originals range, which is vegan and plant-based. If you want smoothness that outlasts the weekend, there’s a Brazilian Blow Out on the menu too.

There are also salons in Shoreditch and on Portobello Road, but for a glamorous detour in the West End, Liberty is our pick.

Tip: book an evening slot, order your cocktail and let the afternoon slide gently into dinner. The cocktail bar and the members’ club vibe make it one of the most sociable blow dry experiences in the capital, and the setting inside Liberty gives the whole thing a theatrical, only-in-London feel.

HARI’s, Parsons Green and Chelsea

Best for: A Chelsea blow dry that’s “done but undone”
Address: 183 New Kings Road, Parsons Green, London SW6 4SW (also 233 King’s Road)
Special touch: The Energy Cut, a trichotherapy-based ritual using a small Japanese sabre, plus the Gloss-Up for a mirror-like finish

HARI’s has been in London since 1976, and 2026 marks its 50th year, so expect a year of celebrations, events and new services. It now has five salons across Chelsea, Parsons Green, South Kensington, Notting Hill and Battersea, and the blow dry menu is wonderfully clear.

The Signature is a classic Chelsea blow dry, “done but undone”. The Deluxe gives you extra time, optional Oribe shine treatments and a long head massage, ideal for thick hair or extensions. The Gloss-Up adds a clear gloss toner at the backwash before the blow dry, for a mirror-like finish that makes a good case for itself on any grey Wednesday.

We also love the wellness extras. The Energy Cut uses a small Japanese sabre and a trichotherapy-based ritual, while the Cut + Reset starts with a scalp consultation using the Nioxin Nioscope. Chelsea, but make it holistic.

There’s an Academy section too, which tells you how much the team cares about craft, and gift cards work at any of the five salons, so it’s an easy present for the friend who has everything (but always needs a blow dry). Pick the salon closest to you, or the one closest to dinner.

Backstage Chelsea

Best for: Getting ready for a night out, together
Address: 335-337 King’s Road, Chelsea, London SW3 5ET
Special touch: The Smart Beauty Service, where hair and beauty treatments happen at the same time so nobody sits around waiting

Forget the idea of a solitary blow dry. Backstage is all about the group getting-ready experience, which makes it perfect for birthdays, hen dos, weddings and any weekend night that deserves a proper start.

The Effortless Glam package (from £70 per person) covers an express blow dry, a makeup refresh and sparkling wine in 90 minutes. Step up to the Elevated experience (£90) and you get a scalp-massage blow dry and a gel manicure over two hours. The Bespoke version (£130) adds makeup, treats and an interactive masterclass with your own dedicated host.

The clever bit is the Smart Beauty Service, where hair and beauty treatments happen at the same time, so nobody sits around waiting for her turn. Arrive a little early. Trust us.

It’s the antidote to the frantic hour of bathroom-mirror chaos, and the hosting is thoughtful enough that even the shyest guest ends up joining in.

Samantha Cusick, Notting Hill

Best for: Cocktails, a cut and a blow dry, just off Portobello Road
Address: 284 Westbourne Park Road, London W11 1EH
Special touch: Tropical-style decor across two floors and a pop-up bar serving complimentary cocktails

Notting Hill, but with a sense of humour. Samantha Cusick’s two-floor salon, just off Portobello Road, has tropical-style decor and a pop-up bar serving complimentary cocktails, which is how every blow dry should begin. More than 1,000 Google reviews and a 4.8 say that the hair is every bit as good as the drinks.

Pair it with a wander down Portobello Road, a pastel-coloured pit stop and a very good lunch. It’s a tough job, etc.

Our tip: it’s lively, sociable and perfect for a group. Book the blow dry as the opening act for brunch or an evening out, and ask your stylist for a finish with a bit of movement, because Notting Hill is not a place for a rigid helmet of hair.

Paul Edmonds London, Battersea Power Station

Best for: Red carpet hair south of the river
Address: Circus West Village, Battersea Power Station, 3 Circus Road West, London SW11 8EZ
Special touch: The UK’s first exclusive Shu Uemura hair and beauty emporium, set inside Battersea Power Station

Paul Edmonds has been styling London since 1984, and he’s the official hair partner of the EE British Academy Film Awards, which tells you he knows what a camera flash does to a bad blow dry. The Battersea Power Station salon is also the UK’s first exclusive Shu Uemura hair and beauty emporium, so the products on show are as glossy as the finish.

The services run from cut and finish, colour and bridal hair to extensions, manicures, facials and wet shaves for the men in your life. Hours stretch late on Thursdays and Fridays (until 9pm) and start early on Saturdays (8am), which suits those who’d rather be done by lunch.

Make a day of it. Blow dry first, then dinner in the Power Station’s Circus West Village. Delectable.

If south London is your patch, this is the salon that proves you don’t need to cross the river for a glamorous blow dry. And if you’re heading to an event, the red carpet pedigree is quietly reassuring.

Now go and book. Your hair has had a long summer.
